The 2004 Technology Exposition will be a historic gathering of business
leaders and technology entrepreneurs from the Midlands. Activities
will include technology entrepreneurs showcasing South Carolina technology,
seminars and presentations geared to entrepreneur and business-owner needs,
and more. A noon meal will be provided, as well as an evening gathering
at Jillian’s restaurant.
The
Technology Exposition offers business leaders throughout the region an
up-close look at the technology developed and sold by local entrepreneurs.
The ultimate goal of this show is to encourage business owners to “buy
South Carolina” for all their technology needs. Members of local
Chambers of Commerce, as well as Rotary, networking and other groups will
be encouraged to attend this event. By buying local technology, they
will be creating a stronger economy for themselves.

| When you choose to participate in
Columbia’s Technology Exposition, you are not just part of a simple trade
show. You are supported by two organizations who have made it their
goal to support not only technology in the region, but technology developed
and sold by area entrepreneurs. That’s you! |
| Businesses today are interested
in improving their bottom line — increasing revenues and decreasing costs.
They are looking at technology to do so. Business owners also are
interested in spending their dollars locally. They want to reinvest
in the community, because they realize that their future depends
upon a strong local economy. |
| Their problem? They
don’t know where to go to locally buy their technology products and services.
That is where we come in! Our thanks to CTEC and Midlands Technical
College for bringing local entrepreneurs and business owners together! |
| The Columbia Technology Entrepreneur Council
(CTEC) is
a subset of the South Carolina Technology Alliance, which was created by
the legislature in the mid 1990s to ensure the development of programs
that will strengthen technology entrepreneurs and promote their needs and
contributions. Members and visitors meet the second Wednesday of
each month at the Capital City Club for breakfast and a presentation tailored
to their interests, as well as the last Tuesday of each month at Jillian’s
Restaurant for wings, chips, relaxation and networking. |
| Midlands Technical College is
a comprehensive, urban, public, two-year college serving the primary region
of Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties of South Carolina. College
programs and services provide accessible, affordable, high-quality post-secondary
education that prepares traditional and non-traditional students to enter
the job market, allows them to transfer to senior colleges and universities,
and assists them in achieving their professional and personal goals. Through
its programs and services, the college equitably provides higher education
opportunities and supports the economic growth of the community. |
